3 iPhone apps to use for increased fitness and weight loss

I’ve tried to lose weight many times before, mostly falling flat on my face. I had all kinds of excuses: depression, billigerence, misanthropy, laziness …. then recently a lever in my mind switched without me being aware that it might happen. A total surprise. Pleasant.

I found 3 iPhone applications that changed my life, making the weight loss journey much easier. No, not easier, I guess; this journey is still like slogging through quick sand. But these apps caused that lever to flip.

I love my iPod Touch, as much as human should love a computer, and find new uses for it all the time. I’m constantly asking myself the question during an average day, I wonder if there’s an iPod application that can help me with this problem?

The iPod Touch is the iPhone without the phone feature, which given you have to deal with AT&T, I wouldn’t find the phone part much of a feature. Plus I already have a sweet cell phone set-up.

There are three different iPhone apps that are giving me the kind of information I need to modify my behavior: change my eating habits, make better choices, monitor my health, and track my progress in both weight loss and increased fitness. I have a series of posts coming up about each of these apps:

  1. Lose It! (for tracking diet, exercise, and weight)
  2. iFitness (more detailed tracking of workouts)
  3. Cychosis (an app specifically used for tracking my cycling rides)

Stay tuned. Tomorrow I’ll talk about Lose It!
